We flew from Southern California to Salt Lake City to embark on a week-long road trip through Utah during the first week of September. We had already booked our rental vehicle which we picked up and headed toward the Canyonlands National Park. At first, we took a break at the National Park sign and then visited the Island in the Sky Visitor Center where we inquired about things we could do in and around the National Park and so on.
The first viewpoint was in front of the visitor center on grand viewpoint road, it definitely was stunningly beautiful. The views were similar to what we see in Grand Canyon.
The next destination was Grand View Point, the vistas are just jaw-dropping. You can also see some needle-like formations along with the canyons as far as the eye could capture. Words would not be sufficient to describe the feelings you could experience in the area.
Green River Overlook was the next destination of our trip, it has got some sweeping wide views of the Green River carving its way through the canyons.
Finally the very famous Mesa Arch, we took the Mesa Arch Trail and continued to the vista point. It’s an easy hike loop of about 0.7 miles. It is definitely of the most beautiful places to be at sunrise as it acts as a gigantic window to see through the canyon lands for photography.
That’s all the places we visited in Canyonland National Park and later we went to visit Dead Horse Point State Park which again is definitely one of the must-see places in the area. After paying the entry fee we headed to the visitor center and roamed around for a bit for a while after that, we directly went to DeadHorsePoint. We could see the mighty Colorado River navigating through the canyons, giving a ship-like formation.
From here we continued our road trip toward Arches National Park.
