Sovna NaikL.A. is one of the cities which has something for everybody. No matter how many times you visit you will always hop on something new and interesting, though everything comes with a fair share of the price. It’s beautiful, it’s touristy, it’s culturally rich and vibrant, amazing avenues for activities and adventure, literally it has it all.
L.A. was one of the first places we visited in the United States and instantly fell in love with the vibe, the beaches, and everything around. (In this specific post, I will be mentioning only the places we visited especially in downtown L.A. and later I will attach other areas and places too.)
It is definitely one of the picturesque locations, it has got Pagado-style buildings and red lanterns which gives a beautiful festive vibe. There are many restaurants in the area if you want to try out. I highly recommend going during the early morning if you are into photography because it might get crowded later in the day.
The Street is known as the birthplace of Los Angeles. It’s a beautiful and colorful Mexican marketplace, where you can stroll around as other tourists do. Definitely, worth visiting and exploring the area, there are usually events that are scheduled that you can enjoy watching. There is a wide option of shops and restaurants as well.
Los Angeles Union Station is regarded as “The last of the great train stations”, mission-style architecture with tiles embedded on the walls and marbled floor give the building an epic look. It is again one of the most picturesque places but keeps in mind it might be crowded during your visit. It is fascinating to watch those high ceilings and beautiful chandeliers. There are even more than a couple of movies filmed in the union station.
It is definitely one of the must-visits when you are in Los Angeles. From the outside itself, the building architecture will lure you to spare some time for your visit to the museum. General admission is free but you need to reserve timed tickets in advance.
The museum houses a large collection of stunning art pieces and installations. I was genuinely fascinated by each and every one of those pieces but, the most attractive one was the huge table and chairs. I was literally standing below the table and still, I looked so minuscule. We did spend quite a lot of time which was worth it in the museum so keep in mind if you have other reservations.
It is again a beautiful piece of architecture designed by Frank Gehry. It has got this labyrinth of passages and staircase, which I found extremely appealing. We did stroll around the hall on our own and totally enjoyed the experience. There are many self-guided and guided tour options that you can schedule during your visit.
Want to ride on the world’s shortest railway? well, Angeles Flight Railway is the one for you. The price to ride the train is very insignificant $1 each way. Unfortunately during the time of our visit, it wasn’t open so we could not experience it. Maybe next time we will get the chance to be able to experience this part of history.
This is without a doubt an architectural gem, its iron railings, and open cage elevators give it a unique appearance and is a National Historic Landmark. Movie enthusiasts might recognize this building from Blade Runner, along with that, it’s an amazing place for some photography.
It’s a unique place/bookstore where they displace stunning art pieces through books, you can stand under a tree tunnel, You can see books flying, a book frame just to add a few. It’s worthwhile if you are a book lover might well find something interesting or maybe some beautiful angles for a photo!
It is located in the heart of downtown L.A. which is in the US Bank Tower. It provides a 360 degree visual and is California’s tallest open-air observation deck. We did book the tickets and reserved the time ahead of our visit, we choose to go during the golden hour and the view from the top was just mesmerizing. We could see the Hollywood sign at a distance and other urban areas as well. That awe-inspiring first glimpse of the city made everything worthwhile. And, I’m glad we choose to go in the evening.
That is all about the places we visited in Downtown L.A. but, we did take many random stops and tried out many restaurants. I believe, the best way to know more about a place is by walking and we did the same.
